Classification of Judo-techniques according
"Kawashi".
By the years gone several classifications of judo techniques have arisen. The two most known systems are:
Kodokan Gokyo system of Jigoro Kano.
The Kodokan Gokyo-system exist from five series of eight techniques. During later years 17 techniques were added. Furthermore this system exists of eighteen different control techniques.
Kawashi-system
Mikonosuke Kawashi, a Japanese consultant of the French judo federation, developed a new system where techniques were classified on the basis of their principle. More later he expanded the range of techniques with kata waza, shoulder throws. Thereby he determined a specific order.
