JUDO KATA: KATAME - NO - KATA

Katame-no-kata: Forms of Grappling.

The Katame-no-Kata (Forms of Grappling) consists of three series of 5 representative control techniques, the basis of the judo fight on the ground. Katame-no Kata developed at the Kodokan between 1884 and 1887 following the development of the Nage no Kata. Together they form the Randori-Kata.
The actions have to be performed under complete control mimicking RANDORI. In osea-waza Uke tries to escape with actions on the three control points.
