JUDO: SUTEMI-WAZA / SACRIFICE THROWS
The name of these techniques originates from the fact that Tori drops himself (sacrifices himself) in order to execute the throw. The "moment" of the falling movement is used to throw Uke.
Sutemi waza are divided in:
- Backwards throws (ma sutemi waza),
- Sideway throws (yoko sutemi waza).
